my journey: 40 days.

"Those who know your name trust in you, for you, LORD, have never forsaken those who seek you."
- Psalm 9:10

Living in the "real world," I have found myself constantly struggling to maintain a healthy spiritual life. My daily routine of "work, eat, sleep," leaves me feeling empty, and instead of seeking God, I have chosen to grow complacent with the rhythm of my new life.

Useless spending has become one of biggest vices. Although I am a pretty practical and thrifty shopper, there have been many more purchases that were "nice to have," not "need to have." I am also extremely unfit. Walking down three flights from my apartment to my car leaves me a bit out of breath - I kid you not.

This Lent season, I want to refrain from making any new closet/accessory purchases, and learn to feed my soul and body daily. Every day, I will find something in closet or jewelry box that has been overlooked and give it new life, I will actively seek out ways to strengthen my relationship with God, and I will make sure to eat at least one fruit or vegetable a day.
eating fruits and vegetables is actually a big struggle for me!

For the purpose of accountability, I have chosen to chronicle my 40 day journey on my blog. If you can see a bit of yourself in me, I hope that this series encourages you to rekindle your relationship with Him. If you would like someone to share your journey with, and help keep you accountable, I would be more than happy to help - email me :)

Thank you for letting me share my journey of spiritual discipline with you. God bless!
