comodo - soho, ny.

58 Macdougal St.
NY, NY 10012

I have a confession to make. When I fall in love with a restaurant, I tend to keep it my own little secret.  Now why is this relevant? Because Comodo has officially trumped my previous favorite date night spot - so much so that I felt that it was my duty as a food lover to share this gem with you.

'Cómodo,' meaning "comfortable" in Spanish, perfectly captures the essence of this restaurant. As much as I love the glitz and glam of extravagant dining rooms, there is something about the quaint and intimate setting here that makes you feel so at home and never want to leave.

WARM BRUSSELS SPROUT CAESAR SALAD

Chef Donnelly's menu of comfort foods reflect his Colombian upbringing as well as experience abroad in Spain, Brazil, and Mexico. Warm Brussels Sprout Caesar Salad?! YES, PLEASE.

PĀO DE QUEIJO SLIDERS (LAMB SLIDERS)

Before opening Comodo, Chef Felipe Donnelly and his wife hosted dinner parties in their apartment for small groups of people. After lots of social media buzz and a cease-and-desist letter from the NYC health department, they had to find another way to continue to share their passion. Enter, Comodo.

COFFEE RUBBED COCHINITA (PORK SHOULDER)

DAY BOAT SCALLOPS

If you're looking for a cozy night with your friends, loved ones, and a refreshing glass of sangria, I would definitely check this place out.

Happy Friday!

love, MH<3

P.S. They give you these amazing brigadeiros (a Brazilian chocolate truffle of sorts) with your bill & if you love them as much as I did, you can place a pick up order for a box of these! noms.
