Lolita BYO in Philly is hands down my favorite restaurant - that place has seen more of my birthdays and date nights than anywhere else. When I discovered a Lolita in Boston, there was no question that that's where I was going for my long overdue night out on the town.
Margaritas & queso fundido = perfection.

The night started off with a complimentary grapefruit granita surrounded by dry ice, and topped with a shot of tequila. It was like eating a margarita iceball. Then there was a warm basket of tortilla chips with three kinds of salsa, which definitely helped me refrain from ordering a side of guacamole.

The blackened mahi mahi tacos were seasoned and grilled to perfection.
(Although my favorite mahi mahi tacos will always be from Distrito - Jose Garces is a genius.)

When the dessert menu was placed in front of me I had to do all in my power to not order a chocolate dessert. I am not a fan of cheesecake, caramel, or bananas so even I was surprised when I ordered the Banarama. The warm gooey fried banana-caramel cheesecake did my choice justice and brought me one step closer to converting into a cheesecake lover.

The ambience of this underground restaurant was less intimate than that of Philly's Lolita but it hit the nostalgic spot.
Ending the night with a huge complimentary cotton candy wasn't to shabby either. ;)

Hopefully, I'll be able to get out of this rut of missing Philly & make more culinary discoveries up here.
Here's to Boston.

love, MH<3
